Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be shown live on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the two fighters met personally to publicize the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Former two time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge disparity - at Miami's arena on December 19th.
Fighter's Attitude
"I plan to injure his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," the British boxer, 35, declared.
"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I intend to seriously aim to hurt him. That's my intention."
Civil Interaction
Despite those words, a calm Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally recognized for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.
Jake Paul instead attacked former Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "a joke" after the Cameroonian declined a match opportunity.
Targeting Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, targeted UK rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul win.
"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Fighter
In spite of declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.
Jake Paul's Background
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or faded names since turning professional.
He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
Still, the inexperienced fighter is still one of the sport's largest commercial attractions, consistently making substantial financial rewards.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28-year-old anticipated a knockout win in round four or five and stated he would stop the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly under discussion for two years from now.
"It will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul said.
Size Difference
As Joshua and Paul met for the traditional face-off, with their physical disparity evident, it drove home just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is actually proceeding.
